[sefadu] Complete!

I spent a lot of time fiddling around with different designs for the yellow warpaint on the helmets, before settling on a simple, consistent scheme.

Overall I'm happy with the end result - I changed my sefadu for v1 to have light brown fatigues, but for MERCS 2.0 I opted for the standard black fatigues, which I think turned out OK.

Individual model photos up next week - stay tuned!

sefadu - Undercoated

Looks like I have enough MERCS motivation to paint through another faction this year! sefadu are next on my painting queue!

sefadu - Assembled Part 2

Another round of clean sculpts! There is flash on the models, but it is minimal, and on these models particularly, it was the thin type of flash that flaked off as soon as I looked at it sternly.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Heavy model yet... the tail, used to anchor the troop in place while firing the heavy weapon, looks a little awkward to me.

And the Shock Trooper, like the Berserker and his Twin Blades, is another sefadu model bringing a knife to a gun fight! Though his Ashanti Sword is significantly bigger than your average knife...

sefadu - Assembled

The MERCS 2.0 construction continues with the sefadu! I've been a fan of the sefadu aesthetic since they were announced way-back-when, and assembling them in plastic was a real treat.

I'm really happy to have the sefadu Leader in plastic now! My old metal sefadu Leader model has had his spear snap off twice - though I admit I only used greenstuff and superglue, when I should have pinned the join as well.

Unfortunately, my sefadu Gunner did not come with a left arm, so this faction will be at the end of my painting queue until I can get an arm sent over.
While missing pieces are a bother, they're not completely unexpected - hopefully no other pieces are missing as part of my Wave 2 Kickstarter delivery!

Here are the sefadu from the Terminus Maneuver expansion, plus the Sniper, minus the Gunner's left arm.

MERCS 2.0 - sefadu

sefadu is a different animal now. During a worldwide public event in the MERCS universe, sefadu was overthrown by the FCC and is no longer a MegaCon. They have become a rogue MERCS group that attack MegaCon and FCC House alike. They are off the grid and deciding on their own targets now. They are the highest priority of the GCC and those MegaCons that betrayed them during Operation: Paradigm Shift.

(sefadu is supposed to be lower case, and we pronounce it: "zva-doo")

Sync's MERCS Madness Month Complete!

This month has absolutely flown by! I started my MERCS Madness Month on July 29th, and it's now August 27th - so I've got a few days up my sleeve. I think all the late nights have paid off, and I have four MERCS factions, now painted to the best of my ability - and I can look back at my accomplishments with a sense of pride and achievement. Here are the squad shots of my MERCS factions:

[CCC]
[KemVar]
[USCR]
[sefadu]

With four factions to play with, I'll need a MERCS tabletop for them to wage war on - so my next MERCS project will be creating one! Stay tuned, PLENTY more MERCS to come!

Sync's [sefadu]

And this marks the end of my MERCS Madness Month! I know I said this before, but I can't believe I've spent the past month painting so much!
The sefadu are a well-posed and sculpted faction, all very dynamic and aggressive, and I think I owe them some table time!

[sefadu] Medic

And that's it! The last model painted in my MERCS Madness Month - has it really been a month? I guess I've been quite busy, so the time has just flown by!
Group shot tomorrow, then I think I'll take a well deserved break from painting.

[sefadu] Leader

This model was quite tricky to photograph and get into proper focus because of the heavy forward lean and the long horizontal spear, but I think these photos came out alright.
Now, using a spear in the world of MERCS wouldn't be my first choice as a primary weapon for combat - but that just goes to show how awesome this guy is!
I can't believe it - on more model to go, and I'll have finished my MERCS Madness Month!

[sefadu] Berserker

Talk about commitment to melee combat - this guy brings two forearm-blades onto a battlefield were everyone else has guns - big guns. Another fantastic dynamic pose for the sefadu, and I'm getting pretty keen to see these guys in action!
