Texico - Assembled Part 2

I'm going to stop going on about how the models I received in my All Your MERCS Are Belong To Us addon are significantly better quality - at this point I'm happy to say that they are consistently a higher standard - but I'll make sure to point out if they aren't.

I'll have to reset the Eagle's footing, as he is on an awkward lean, but that's a pretty simple process once you know how.

The Breacher is an interesting addition to the Texico line up, and I'm keen to see how he looks with some paint!

Texico - Assembled

As part of the MERCS Recon Kickstarter I received an alternate sculpt of the Marshal model - and while I do have a healthy fear of Chuck Norris (based on internet memes) I made a conscious decision to stick with the original, classic, Marshal model... for now.

I love the new Texico models that have been added as part of MERCS 2.0 - I particularly like the Ranger model, and he's probably the Texico model I'm most looking forward to painting.

Here are the Texico models from the Omega Precedent MERCS Recon expansion, plus the Sniper.

[Texico] Leader

And that's it for my Texico! The house paint scheme for the dog is a German Shepard, but I thought I'd go for a lighter colour to make him stand out from the rest of the Texico a little more.

With all my painting done, it's time to get down to some battle reports!

[Texico] Jaguar

Ah the Jaguar... while some of the MERCS go into battle with close combat weapons, like twin arm-blades, throwing spears and tridents, this guy rocks up with a baseball bat. I have no idea how this unit is going to play, but I plan on fielding him just because he's got balls and wicked steez.

[Texico] Marshal

The poster-boy for the Texico (literally - check out the poster in the background), the Marshal! Here's another model that I originally thought looked quite disproportionate, but after a coat of paint I think he looks pretty bad ass!

[Texico] Sniper

I don't think any other model in the MERCS range is quite so stationary, which makes this model quite unique... but it's entirely fitting given he's a sniper. The cloak wraps around him all the way, providing a cool rock camo effect - come to think of it, I should have taken a photo from the back as well!

[Texico] Heavy Gunner

Continuing with my Texico, the Heavy Gunner's stance really makes the gun, look, well... heavy.  I guess the name is appropriate then. Though still not as heavy looking as the [CCC] Heavy Assault's cannon.

[Texico] Demolition

Now switching over to Texico, just for some variety while I paint through these two factions. The Texico and ISS have totally different colour palettes, which makes alternating between the two factions quite fun!

After I unboxed this model, I thought his proportions were a little off, but now that he's got some paint on him I'm not sure what I was thinking...

Texico Assembled and Based

Texico - assembled and based! These models seem to have a bit more of a cartoonish look than the other MERCS factions, and their proportions seem a little inconsistent with the rest of the MERCS models. I'll see what they look like with some paint before reviewing them though.

Next up, I'll crack open the ISS!

Texico Unboxed

So here’s an unboxing shot I took of the Texico (the MERCS Starter Kits are great!) and I’ll look at starting some assembly tonight. There aren't many pieces that need to be glued together, so hopefully I can manage with my recovering injury.
