Photo Update
After my recent hiatus, I took a look through my blog, and found that I could no longer stand the 'quick & dirty' photos I took of my Keizai Waza and KemVar models.
Using the MERCS Recon: Assassination Protocol box for the background was a bad decision, because the orange of the Keizai Waza and the green of the KemVar look 'washed out' against the brown background colour.
So I took some new photos of my Keizai Waza models against a background that better shows their 'true colour' (the colour I see when holding the models in my hand), and thought I'd throw up them up on my blog for good measure.

Here's a comparison of the original photos versus the improved photos:
These are photos of the exact same model, but as you can see the orange looks totally different in each picture! So I'll try and post a new photo update each day, as I work through my GCC models.

[Keizai Waza] Complete!
And that'll do it for the Keizai Waza! Out of all the new plastic MERCS models I've worked with, these were by far the hardest to clean and assemble, with difficult mold lines making it a bit of a chore.
That being said, I'm happy with how my models turned out, even with my inferior assembly skills.
I'm also really happy with how the orange turned out - I used a different recipe for the orange on my MERCS 1.0 Keizai Waza, and this newer orange is much closer to the orange used in the faction artwork.
Next week, EU Inc - stay tuned!

[Keizai Waza] Forward Observer
I am really falling behind on my blogging! I’ve been using all my spare time to paint models, and haven't been able to get around to taking photos or blogging.
I actually finished off my EU Inc last week, but haven’t been able to take photos yet – hopefully I’ll have something up next week!
Anyways, here is the Keizai Waza Forward Observer, another great model to make it from MERCS 1.0 to 2.0.
I’ll have the whole faction photo up later this week – stay tuned!

[Keizai Waza] Spotter
I'm so glad I've finished the Keizai Waza models! I think they turned out OK, even with my sub-par assembly and cleaning - but I don't think it was any secret that the sculpts for these models came out terribly, with a lot of flash and mold lines.
The Spotter's dynamic pose made him hard to get in focus for photos, but I think I captured the two angles that show the pose best.

Assassination Protocol Reinforcements - Assembled Part 2
Continuing with assembly of my All Your MERCS Are Belong To Us, here are the final models from the factions in the MERCS: Recon Assassination Protocol box - KemVar and Keizai Waza!
So far the quality on these models is noticeably better than what I experienced with previous shipments, which has been a nice surprise!

[Keizai Waza] Booster
And finishing off the Keizai Waza for this round of painting, the Booster, which I think is a fantastic addition to the Keizai Waza line up. I love the cool pose on this model, and wide visor helmet variation is great.

[Keizai Waza] Demo
This is a really awesome dynamic model, and still one of my favorites from the Keizai Waza - great to see him back in action for MERCS 2.0!

[Keizai Waza] Sniper
The original metal model for the Keizai Waza Sniper had options for either cloaked or uncloaked, and for MERCS 1.0 my Keizai Waza Sniper was uncloaked.
As an individual model, I think I prefer uncloaked - but looking at this model on the shelf with the rest of the Keizai Waza squad, I think the cloak adds some needed variation.

[Keizai Waza] Reinforcements Painted!
![]() |
| Demo, Booster, Sniper |
It was great to repaint the Demo and Sniper, which are welcome returns from MERCS 1.0.
The original metal Sniper had two head variants, one with cloak and one without, but for MERCS 2.0 only the cloaked variant is available.
The booster is an awesome addition to the roster as well, and I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my remaining Keizai Waza models as part of the All Your MERCS add-on.
Individual model photos coming up - stay tuned!

MERCS Recon Paint Palettes
I made sure to snap some photos of the paints I used while I was painting through the MERCS models which arrived as part of the MERCS Recon Kickstarter Wave 1 shipment.
Now that I'm painting more models for these factions, I dug up the photos again, and I thought I'd share them for anyone interested - but mostly for my own reference.
